In order to strengthen our ministries and enhance our ability to serve the needs of the community, Immanuel has launched a capital campaign with the theme, "Building on Faith to Grow, Love and Serve"

The goal of this campaign is to upgrade the aging bathrooms and classrooms and make the building more energy efficient, safe, and welcoming for all to use. Our hope is to start and complete the renovations in 2018. We are currently in the process of designing the project and determining the financial requirements to achieve our goals which are to:

Renovate the classrooms and office wing,

Replace heating, ventilation, electrical and lighting systems to code,

       Create handicapped accessible restrooms,

Install air conditioning in the classrooms and offices.

If you would like to be part of this renewal project and help us meet the challenge of restoring and upgrading our facility, there are envelopes in the pew racks for much appreciated, tax-deductible contributions or you may send a check directly to the church designating that it is for the capital campaign. If you have any questions please contact Pastor Sandy, John Pietrella, or Lisa Nelson for more information.

Ways To Give That Do Not Involve Money

  •  Attend worship.  Pray, sing, pass the peace, and be a joyful participant in Sunday morning worship.  It feels good to have many people in the sanctuary together.
  •  Greet new people who come to our church, introduce yourself and ask their names.  Welcome them.
  •  Immanuel needs volunteers to join both committees and short term project teams: New Member Welcoming Committee (short term project), Stewardship, Worship, SERVE, Parsonage Review (short term project)
  •  Offer to do some lawn maintenance one weekend this year.  See Bob Ellston Sr. or Bob Ellston Jr. on how you can help. (Bob Sr. and Derry’s email)
  •  We really need people to help change linens and prepare the altar for communion, and to assist with altar clean up after the 10:15 worship service.  The team rotates turns, or just offer to do once month this year!  This is a great task for parents to do while waiting for kids who are in Sunday School!  Please contact Marlene Sparks to join altar guild.

  •  Confirmation class is seeking people to stop in and share their Faith Story with the youth on Sunday morning between 9-10am.  The youth ask good questions and benefit so much from talking with you!  See Frank Canino, Bob Sendling, or Pastor Sandi.  Don’t want to talk about it?  Write it down and have a student read it to the class.,
  • Send cards or letters to members we haven’t seen in a while, just to say hello from the church.  See Pastor Sandi for a short list.  Also could send cards to shut ins and our friends at Pleasant St. Rest Home.
  • Help maintain and care for Immanuel gardens and grounds. See Bob Ellston Sr. or Bob Ellston Jr. on how you can help. (Bob Sr. and Derry’s email)

Capital Campaign:

  • When it comes time to start the construction, we will definitely need help packing up whatever is left in the building and finding appropriate storage if this is not provided by the construction company.
  • We should also have a team of people who help determine what we should keep versus get rid of in the current rooms. Of items to get rid of, figuring out the best way (selling, electronics recycling, donating, or dumpster) to do that. Both veteran and newer members can do this. The best question: "Does it serve our ministry?" If the answer is no, we likely don't need it.
